Downgrade Problems

Hello fellow developers!

We're always looking to improve the experience our users have with Widgetic's products. There's a theme we cannot find a solution to, which repeats every couple of weeks. How did YOU address this problem?

Problem:

  1. When a user wants to downgrade, what they usually do is delete all instances of our app, from any page on their website.

  2. With that, their expectation is for the app to be removed. When they are charged and see they didn't actually downgrade, they start a dispute and we're always paying 10X back, as we cover Stripe's Dispute Fee..

  3. Most of times they don't even answer to our reply, thinking we wanted to scam them. The issue stands with the way Weebly approaches downgrades of apps - and the fact that users don't go to the Apps section to remove them. What was your way around this usability problem that's causing major cash losses for every downgrade?

    For example we have 4 disputes now, from the same user, for 2.99. Because they thought they downgraded 4 months ago. Stripe will tax us $60! on top of refunding the money to the user.

    It doesn't matter what we tell the bank, we always lost the disputes. We even been in touch with Weebly and they didn't fix this on their end. Do you have this problem??

    4. Is there any event sent from Weebly that when all instances of an app have been removed, the app to be removed or at least the user to be shown AN OPTION to remove the app?
