Blurry images on the product page

Hi,

I have an image added at the bottom of all my product pages, but this image has always been blurry, it is created very high quality in Photoshop, I have tried saving in different file types, different quality size, embedded colour profile sRGB etc.

Here is one of my product pages for reference:

https://www.edwindatocgallery.com/store/p22/birds-lisbon-portugal

It's the photo under the title FRAME STYLES as you can see the words ' BLACK WOODEN FRAME WITH MATT' and all text of the photo is blurry compared to other words on the page.

I have contacted Weebly about this a long time ago they saw the problem and noted it to be fixed, then months later said it was fixed which it is not.

Any help with be so appreciated

Hi @EDGallery. Smiley Happy When this issue happened previously did you see a change after they released the fix? Is it only blurry on the product page, or do you see this on standard pages as well? Can you also post all of the image details? Size, format, etc. Thanks so much!

Hi Bernadette,

As I had only tried this particular type of image on my product pages, I was not sure if it did on all pages, but just now I tried uploading it on my home page and the same thing blurry.

Image info:

997 KB

7500 × 6000

JPEG

Anything else you need to know?

Is it RPG? Can you also try saving it as a .png instead of jpeg? Also, if you want you can create a link for the original file and post it in this thread. I like using https://wetransfer.com/

I beIieve the most recent round of image enhancement we rolled out were specific to images added to products, and not standard image elements like you have on the bottom of the page in the original post.

Hmm... One thing you could try doing is splitting that image into 4 different images sans all text, then use standard text elements and image captions for the text instead. That will also have the added benefit of stacking on mobile devices (rather than becoming really tiny) and being readable by Google.

Separating into the four images will not be sufficient as I need to do this with every product.

With my communication with Weebly via emails, they suggested I try making my image to 72dpi and between 641x641 to 1400 x 1400, I did this with no change still have a blurry image.

And this image problem is related to the 'image element' not the product image.

It's not very efficient, but you could do something like this:

1. Create a hidden page of your site called something like "Image Uploads" and hide it from search engines and your navigation.

2. Using text links, upload your image as a file with linked text.

3. Visit the page on your live site (/image-uploads.html), then right click on the link and copy the image URL

4. Edit this code to use the image's URL, then paste it into an embed code element on the product page.

<div>
	<div class="wsite-image wsite-image-border-none " style="padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px;margin-left:0;margin-right:0;text-align:center">
		<a>
			<img src="PASTE-IMAGE-URL-HERE" alt="Picture" style="width:auto;max-width:100%">
		</a>
		<div style="display:block;font-size:90%"></div>
	</div>
</div>

This is basically hard-coding an image element using an uncompressed version of the image since it was uploaded as a file.

Not only the images but the text are also very blurry. I'm using chrome on 2017 iMac with Retina display.

Also, did you mean to write "mat" and not "matt" for the backing of the photo?

The text is very blurry and the files on my computer are perfect, so fustrating. I wish weebly could just fix this with out me having to try doing all these fancy back end things.

I am also trying to get help with weebly via the emails and now she's ecuse me of lying about the blury images?!? What would I gain from that? And you can clearly see they are blured.

Yes maybe it should have been 'mat' but I have just taken that off all my files as we no longer want to inculed the mat in framing. Need to re upload the files to each product now.

That why was hoping to fix this before I do all this work.

I have been having the same problem - all the images I upload to a product, regardless of original file size or how well prepared, or which device I use to upload, become blurry.  It's a real problem for the company, as it invests a lot of paid time in the product pages, only to have customers constantly asking for "more and better photos".  The photos that are NOT on the product pages are fine.  We used to use galleries for each product, and the photos looked great, but then we wanted to have each product have its own page with its own SEO, and the photos all render blurry.  Same photos.  Driving us crazy!
