whats the best way to create a sale and be able to track inventory that they can purchase items and only get the first one free? This is something that has been discussed before and the previous threads say that it's something the development team would work on.

I have this a Automatic Discount on my Square for Retail settings.

When someone buys 12 of our 28oz Jar candle they get one free from that category.

The only issue I have had with this is after 13 Candles are scanned, 1 Candle is marked at being free (used a $ Discount of the Price of the candle) Square then Marks the First candle in alphabetical order as the Free Item, which could be anywhere on the Receipt. Having me scroll through the receipt to make sure it was applied.

Below is a image of my settings for the buy 12 get 1 free. You can set it to an Item, Items, category or Categories to pick the eligible Free discounts for.

This does track inventory for ALL of the 13 candles that left the store.
