I would like someone to walk me through a transaction

I am a bit confused as to how I exactly make the transaction- the sequence of actions. Can I practice with my own credit card?

you can use your own credit card for a practice $1 transaction.

basically, choose your items to add to the transaction, hit the charge button, either swipe, dip, or tap the card to be used, and follow the rest of the prompts.  It really is quite easy.  after hitting charge you can also choose cash and then it will prompt you for the amount they gave you.

Thank you for this info. I am still having trouble as I get the message that the 'Reader is damaged'even though I have not really used it. What could possibly be wrong with it? Does it mean I have to just go and buy another? How sturdy are they? thanks in advance. Jo

Hey @qw1 - Sorry to hear your reader isn't working! The chip card reader can be more sensitive to any sorts of drops or bumps. Reach out to our CS team directly and they can help you get sorted out. If you've purchased your reader within the past year, they'll be happy to accommodate a warranty exchange.
