Need to charge non tax on a variation of an item

I have multiple tax needs for a single item with variations. Can I set up different tax rates for variations under a single item?

@HumblePies great question! Taxes can only be applied to items themselves, not their variations. You would need to break the variations up and create a separate item for each one to have the different tax rules applied.

It might be something to consider in the future. In Texas, bakeries don't have to charge sales tax on whole items that are not served with eating utensils. So my whole pie, mini pies and cookies are non tax, but my slices are tax....
