Old receipts being reissued

Today I had a customer make a purchase and a receipt was sent. She also received a receipt from a year ago 2016. The old receipt showed up about two Hours after the first receipt. She of course thought I charged her twice. The receipt from last year was associated with a different credit card. How could this happen? (One total was for $25 the other $53)

Hi @StacWright- That sounds very weird!

Was your customer receiving the receipts over email or text? For example, I can imagine if she receives her Square receipts via email and saves all of them, all of them would appear when she searches for your receipts.

It was sent via email sandwiched in between her actual receipt from me that day and another vendor she visited that day.

i sent a request for help on Sunday. Someone responded to me yesterday but I have heard nothing else back.
