Ultimately it depends on your business needs. Can you share a it more about your boutique or plans? 

If you need advanced inventory features and reporting the Retail might be a better option. But if you're just getting started and need a way to accept cards you could use Point of Sale now then switch to Retail later on.

Also keep in mind that there is a subscription fee for Square for Retail and you can only use it on iPads at this time. So you can compare, here are the fees for Square Point of Sale.
