charges for square

i was told that Square charged .10 per transaction + 2.6%

we were playing with the new unit and put in a trial transaction for $1.00

we were charged 3.5% + .15?

can anyone confirm the variance from what i was told and what happened

2.6% + $0.10 is for swiped cards, swiped or inserted chip cards and contactless payments.

If you key in the card information manually, Square charges 3.5% + $0.15. This is due to the bigger risk of manual card payments.

I’m assuming you keyed in the card information manually?
