Little touches can add up to a lot when it comes to your website. After all, your site is a reflection of you (and/or your brand, your business, etc). So you want to make sure you’re creating a consistent experience for your visitors.
One of the ways you can do that is creating a custom 404 error page, and it’s so so very easy. If you haven’t done it yet, you’ll facepalm wondering why you never did before. (Or maybe that was just me, a week ago when I created my first one. Oh just me? Okay.)
You can check out our HC article on creating one, but here’s the gist:
1. Create a new page and name it “404”.
2. Check “Hide it from navigation”.
3. Add whatever content you want to the page.
4. Publish
5. Sit back and have a cookie.
Here’s my 404 page from my portfolio site… http://www.riahgouvea.com/404.html
Feel free to share yours (or any other tips) below!

Great tip and here's our newly created 404 page using one of the pieces of Art from the Gallery (specifically from Little Red Riding Hood) http://www.natemcclain.com/404.html
Also, remember to setup 301 redirects if you're moving from a prior web host to Weebly and your page names are changing. This is located under Settings --> SEO and was a very useful option for migrating our site to Weebly.

Hi @RiahG,
I've put a bit of effort into my 404 page. I actually made a new header type, changed the logo (top-left) for the page nav to a 'damaged' version of our logo, and added animation to the page. As it is for a Music/Performing Arts venue, the background is Thomas Edison with a phonograph.
