Test Partial Payments in the Invoices Request Deposit Beta

Hey everyone!

 

I’m excited to announce that we’ve rolled out a beta for accepting partial payments with Square Invoices!

 

This new feature will allow you to create a single invoice and track multiple payments on that invoice. This may also be useful for those of you who want to accept a deposit and collect the rest of the amount due later.

 

We know this is a feature many of you have been waiting for, so I hope you’ll help us test it out!

By using partial payments and providing us feedback, you will directly influence and improve the Square Invoices product. So please share your reactions and input.

I just got off the phone with Square Support and the young lady we spoke with was not aware of the beta.

How long will it take for it to show on dashboard?

Hey all! I want to follow up to those who have requested the feature. If your request has been "Liked" then the feature has been enabled on your account. You should receive an email outlining the feature. 

To get started, log out into your Square Dashboard and create a Square Invoice and scroll down to "Request Deposit."

I love that i can put my full price, discounts, and request a deposit all in one. My customer can see the full breakdown in one instead of two different invoices being sent. It’s less of a hassle. I also love how it gives them a month (or set time frame) to pay the rest. I love having that control. Always easy use of getting to all my invoices via mobile or web. Overall, I’m completely satisfied. I will be sticking with Square for awhile.

Seems to be working well. I did discover that while the second payment defaults to 30 days and the drop down gives you 30/60/90 options, if you click on the numeral you can change the number of days until the final payment is due.  

 

This is exactly the feature I was looking for as I do custom work and require a deposit.   It will be interesting to see how my customers feel about the ease in payment from the invoice.
