Customer Directory: Some cash sales don't include customer name under "Paid By"

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Cash Sales - "Paid By"  

I have noticed that some cash transactions have a "Paid By" field in the details of the transaction and some do not.  I would like the customer name to appear in all transactions.  My employees say that they are processing payments in the same manner and don't know why some names are recorded and some are not.  Any ideas are appreciated.

Hi again @valleycryo. You'll see a name beside Paid By when a customer profile is associated with a transaction. A customer profile can be created automatically for card transactions. But for cash transactions the profile can't be automatically created because no card is present.

 

You can add customers information (i.e. create a profile) to a sale that has already been processed. You can also remind your employees to add customers to cash transactions from the Point of Sale app.
