Displaying How Many Available Appointments

We are scheduling animal surgery appointments. We are allowing 3 appointments per day. Some people have 2 animals that need scheduling on the same day. Is there a way to show how many appointments are available each day? Or create a service that will count as 2 of the 3 available appointments? That way they won't schedule an appointment if there isn't another one available on the same day.

At this time, there isn't a way to display how many appointments are available on a given day. You can however daily reservation limits to avoid overbooking. Here's how:

 

1. Head to Appointments > Settings > Calendar & Booking.

2. Turn on the toggle next to "Daily Appointment Limit"

3. Specify whether the limit is per day, or per staff member. You'd still be able to book in additional appointments from the calendar, but only 3 appointments would be bookable online

 

Another workaround you could consider is setting up your Square Appointments settings so that you have to approve, or decline each appointment as it comes in. This can be done via Calendar & BookingsOnline Booking Preferences > select Business must accept or decline all appointments. requests. 

 

While you can't create a service that would count as two appointments, you could consider creating a variation on your services, so customers can select from a few different choices. To add a variation:

 

1. In your Square Online Dashboard head to Items > Service Library.

2. Select a Service > Add Variation

3. Adjust the price, name, and duration. Click Save once you're done 👍.

 

This is what it would look like for a hairdresser, in the booking flow, as an example: 

 

 

As a surgery practise, your variations could be related to the amount of animals a customer might want to book in.
