Hi again @Keris! What bar code scanner are you using? You may need to contact the manufacturer directly to see if the scanner can be reprogrammed or used with Square.
We have information about compatible bar code scanners in our Support Center:
- If you're using the Square Stand, these USB bar code scanners are supported.
- If you're using an iPad this bluetooth scanner is supported.
- The scanners listed here are supported with Android devices.
I'll be on the look out for your reply!

I make very small labels for some of our items. I print the barcodes using the "Code-128" format with should work with your codes. Office 2013 and 2016 support barcodes natively. There are some web sites that explain the process.
You use mail merge to generate and print the labels.
To test the scanner and your labels, try hooking the scanner up to a PC or laptop with Excel, or using Excel or Google spreadsheets with your tablet or phone, but the cursor in an empty cell then scan and see what you get. It should display the code, and move to the next line automotically.
