How do you add info to swipe transaction before processing?

New to Square - we want to swipe cards with iPads (we are not using invoices). How do we add job number or some identifier to the transaction?

You can add customer infomation to the sale by Clicking the down arrow at the top left of you iPad were the transaction info is and select add customer.   If you want more information click on your item you are selling and you can add info in the note section.

This did not work.  I added an identifier in the notes section of the customer before swiping card.  I could not find that identifier in any reports or on the transaction receipt. 😞

Don't add it to the notes section of the customer information.  Click on the item in the sale and add it to the item notes section.  You should see it on the digital sale receipt on the screen.
