Moving items into RECEIVED status

I have many used items that have no barcode and require entering one by one.  I did not realize at the time that I had to manually move from the default status of the inventory to RECEIVED before I saved it.  I called Customer Support and they told me to export everything into excel, move my quantities into the column of CURRENT inventory.  I did this, saved it and imported it back in.  24 hours later, the items still remain unchanged.  

If I go in to manually change the status, the new status doesn't hold.

No one is helping me with this and it's a real problem.

HELP!

Sorry for the delayed response here. 

 

I checked in with our Retail team and they were able to provide some clarification around what's happening. 

 

The issue is that received is not a status, but rather, an action. 

 

So when you receive stock, the next time you open that screen, the action will default to "Inventory Re-count", since that's the default action. 

 

If you want to see the history of changes to your inventory, you should look at the Inventory Management -> History tab.

 

Your post led to some discussion around communicating this a bit better, so we may be able to find a different treatment that makes this more clear in the near future.
