I ordered gift cards but they will arrive after a shop local pre-holiday event i wanted them for to sell. Can i sell gift cards accept payment and then load and ship to customers once i receive them?
That is complicated but I think you could do it. You would have to create an item called something like "Gift Card pre-sale" so that you can charge the customer at the time of sale. then you can load cards with "cash" sales, you click the gift card button and enter how much you want on it, then swipe the card, then you would apply a 100% off discount so that you are not actually accepting money at this point. now the card will be loaded for its full value and you will have only been paid once on the books. you would have to keep track separately of who gets what card for what value.
