Setting up Service Stations within a Restaurant

We've been using Square for our bagel and coffee shop (mostly takeout) for three years and its been great. Customers pay when ordering and things are very straight forward.

We took over the restaurant that closed next door and now are also running a much larger craft beer bar/tavern. This question is about dividing the dining room between servers and keeping their tips separate.

The new restaurant is divided into three sections - Bar, Dining Room, Beer Garden

Each section will have its own Square Stand and one employee managing each section. Each employee will keep their tips from that section for the night (Bartender keeps bar tips, Server 1 keeps dining room tips, Server 2 keeps Beer Garden tips).

What is the best way to set this up so we can run reports on each section at the end of the night?

Thanks!

Phil

Hey Phil, there are a few ways that you could organize your Square Register to make sure that all of your reporting and tips are kept separate. You can divide your sales by employee or location. In your case, creating separate location for your three sections may work best.

Each of your locations can be viewed individually but you also have the ability to see your total reports with all three sections combined. You also can have certain employees assign to each "location" so you never have to worry about employee accessing information that they are not supposed to.

Visit our Support Center to a step by step guide to setting up locations.
