Google Webmaster Tools

Ok, no matter which method of verification I use...  HTML tag, Analytics, or Tag Manager (I am registered fo them all) the verification will not work.  I even tried the HTML file upload method, which I really can't figure out.  I get an error message of "Your site's home page returns a status of 404 (Not found) instead of 200 (OK)".  Yet if I go to the page source from my browser, it shows the codes I was instructed to put in the header section.  I have also tried several different ways of inserting the code.  Through the advaned options of the page itself and by editing the CSS code through the theme.  Why is this not working?  The Analytics has definitely been to my pages as there are statistics...

If you need assistance with getting started with Google Webmaster tools, please go to the following link:

http://hc.weebly.com/hc/en-us/articles/201723433-Verify-Site-with-Search-Engines

When you get on Google's site, you may be able to change languages if you need to. Scroll to the very bottom and you will see 'English' click that to see if your language is available.

You can also get verified with Bing.com Webmaster Tools here: http://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmaster

The verification process is basically the same for Bing. Copy the meta tag they provide you and paste it underneath the Google Webmaster Tools code from earlier. Separate them by a few lines so they don't overlap. You can learn a lot more about how to use Bing's tools here: https://www.bing.com/webmaster/help

You will need your sitemap address and that is, http://bestgameseverbge.weebly.com/sitemap.xml

You can submit your sitemap to both Bing and Google.

Be sure to add as much good quality content to your site as possible and follow our guide for optimizing your site here: http://hc.weebly.com/hc/en-us/articles/201672817-Improve-Your-Search-Ranking

Remember it can take days to weeks to be indexed in the major search engines and even longer to be searchable via keywords. The more content you have on your site. The better chance you have of being found.

Hope this helps!

Jus hit 'Publish' in the top right corner after you hit 'Save' button.

And then go to Webmaster to verify
