Noob question regarding blog page name effect on SEO

Hi all,

Finally (after much trial and error) closing in on a design I'm happy with for my healthcare website in the UK.

Just starting my foray into SEO after some research and the general consensus seems to be make the content up to date, relevant and in depth (specialise) where possible. I'm assuming this means from a mix of content and blog posts, the only thing is I can only put so much content in the non-blog pages before it starts looking cluttered and is not in keeping with my "clinical" look aim.

Now I don't know about you guys but pre becoming a small business owner I almost never clicked on the blog section of websites when I was a customer, in fact I used to wonder why the hell they were there, so I was wondering if I renamed it as something relevant to the browser eg. "patient information", would that effect SEO as opposed to if I just keep it to good ol' blog?

Many thanks!

Giving it a name more relevant to the content is a good idea, @gareth. Not only is it more relevant to customers but it's better for Google when the title is better matched to what you're adding to the page.
