Provide more personalized service with customer purchase preferences

Have you ever wondered what your customers purchase most often? Sure, many of you know their deepest and darkest secrets— well, maybe not those, but at least you may remember their preferences. Knowing your customers is how you provide amazing, personalized service that keeps them coming back time after time. But it can be difficult to keep track of everything for everyone all the time. Never fear, we’re here to help.

 

We've recently introduced a new feature that should make your job easier. Now, when you view a profile of one of your customers on the Square Point of Sale app (both Android and iOS) or in your Square Dashboard, you’ll be able to see the items he or she has purchased most often over the last year. We display the 3 most frequently purchased items based on transaction count (i.e., the number of separate times a customer has purchased that item), but you can click See More to expand the list. We also show the category that item is in and the number of relevant transactions. This can come in handy if, for example, you have a new employee who isn’t familiar with your regulars, but you want to ensure your patrons still get the same great customer service they always receive.

You can also click into any item and it will show you the full list of transactions by the customer in which they purchased that item over the last year. In Dashboard, you can adjust the time period if you’re interested in a shorter or longer time period, or include additional filters if you’d like. Ultimately, we want to help you understand your customer’s purchase habits so you could serve them better.
