Hi Community! Some exciting news for businesses who want to pay their team on the go -- Square Payroll just launched the new Payroll App!

We know it is important for business owners to be mobile and have the right tools to run their business from anywhere. The Payroll App was built to save you time and give you the ability to manage payroll tasks while you’re away from your computer. 

Features:

All the features available on your Payroll dashboard are now available on the app! It’s never been easier to:

• Create a Square Payroll account

Whether you’re switching payroll providers or processing payroll for the first time, setting up a Square Payroll account is quick and easy. Just tell us a little bit about your business to begin the setup process. You can see what information you’ll need for setting up full-service payroll for W-2 Employees and 1099 Contractors in our Support Center.

• Review timecards

If you’re tracking employee hours with Square Timecards or using one of our integrated third-party apps, you can review, update, and import timecards all while processing payroll through the app.

• Pay employees and contractors

The Square Payroll App gives you the ability to pay your team with a few clicks. You can import their hours from timecards or enter them manually, add any necessary tips and reimbursements, and review the tax totals before submitting your payroll. Our goal is to give you time back in the day to concentrate on running your business.

• Leave the payroll calculations, payments, and filings to us

When you process payroll through Square, we will automatically calculate your payroll taxes, provide you with the employee’s net pay amounts, and remit the taxes on your behalf. At the end of each quarter and at the end of each year, Square Payroll will automatically file your tax reports and post them to your Payroll dashboard.

If you’re new to Square Payroll or have an existing account, you can download the app to your iPhone or Android smartphone. The app is free to download from the App Store and Google Play by searching for Square Payroll.

There are no additional fees for using the Square Payroll app. We understand that every business operates differently and the app is an additional tool you can use to process payroll. You can continue to manage payroll on your desktop as well.

Pricing:

Square Payroll for Employees and Contractors is $29 per month plus $5 for each employee you pay that month. If you’re only paying contractors, you’ll pay $5 for each contractor you pay that month, with no monthly subscription fee.
