Removing passcode from a cancelled transactions

Hello,

Ive noticed that after the recent update we now need to enter a passcode whenever we need to cancel a transaction. How do we remove this option?

Great question! The ability to cancel transactions is now passcode protected to help protect your business from accidentally cancelling a transaction but you can absolutely turn that permission off for you employees. To manage that permission:

  1. Log into your Dashboard and select your Employee tab.
  2. Select your "Permissions" and select the role you would like to update.
  3. Make sure the "Cancel Transactions" box is checked off.

As a business owner, I'm concerned that now that I've given the permission to do cancel transactions, an employee can just back out of a transaction and then pocket the cash. This isn't a concern with card transactions, but it could easily happen with cash. For instance, if a customer gives the exact amount of the cash total and doesn't want a receipt, the employee can cancel the transaction and pocket that cash.

Is there a way to know how many cancelled transactions an employee does?

Hey @birminghamcandy!

Thanks for your comment in this thread. I see your concerns here.

Do you happen to have Cash Drawer reports turned on? If so, you can view a detailed cash drawer report from here

Here is a more information on Cash Drawer Management. Please let me know if you have any questions about this.

This only makes it to where the employee can’t cancel a transaction. Is there a way to be able to cancel transaction without having to put in the passcode every time?

Enabling the Cancel Transaction permission should allow your employees to cancel transactions without requiring a password.  If this is not what you're looking for, would you be so kind to explain exactly what you're needing @spamducky001

It is still requiring me to.

Also, is there a way to show tips but no other sales info?

If you are the one logged in to the POS it should not be asking for a passcode unless the setting for Require Passcode is set to When backing out of a sale. You can confirm this setting by heading to  More > Settings > Security.

In regards to displaying tips but no other sales, this would be considered a feature request at this time. I recommend you submit a Feature Request here. This will help our product team get visibility and track other Sellers' interest in your request.

Important: When submitting a request, make sure to include the desired feature, and provide the details of how this feature will help your business succeed (how would you use it and what you expect from it).
