Do credit cards with the chip work as tap or do they have to be inserted into the tapper ? I can’t figure out if that’s just for the debit ... Do you find it to be relatively fast ?

in Canada, it is just 10¢ for Interac debit card and no transaction fee percentage. It is listed out on this page, https://squareup.com/ca/pricing. this is only for Tapped Interac debit, they can't be swiped or chip read. Square is working on bringing other standards on board but for now, it is limited to $100 tapped Interac debit.
all other credit cards can be dipped if they have a chip, or tapped if the customer has that enabled. It is very fast, tapping is a couple second and dipping is maybe 3 seconds from insert to done.
