I just started a weebly blog, and the editor will not let me add elements to the home page, although I can add them to the About and Contact pages. Can you explain this to me? I am paying for a Starter site.
Also, until I viewed m newly-published blog online, I had not idea there was and "author" box in the right-hand margin. When I viewed my blog post, the author box said, "Say something about.yourself," or something like that. Very embarrassing. I didn't even know that box existed. I went the editor via the website, and found and edited it. On the weebly app, it was nowhere to be found. Where should I look for it writhing the app?
Can anyone help me with these issues? Thanks!
Sorry for the confusion, . To add content to your blog page in the desktop editor, click the "new post" button on the bottom right. A popup will load for a new post that you can drag content to.
In our mobile apps, go to the dashboard for the site and tap on the blog card. Next, tap on the + button on the top right to create a new post.
I am having this problem too. I don't think KiwiP is talking about adding a new blog post (at least this is not my problem). The problem is I cannot add other elements, such as a slideshow, text, or images, above the blog. I can only add them to the blog sidebar.
As it is a home page, it's highly likely that people are going to want to add more than just the blog element, no? Is there any mechanism for this? Or a way to manually add a separate div to the top of the page that other content can be added to?
Unlike standard pages, the only draggable area on a blog page is the sidebar, @Carlie_Alice. It might be possible through theme customization to add a content area above it in the partials section. If you're familiar with HTML and CSS, check out the "Docs" link you see while editing a theme for more info.
Thanks Adam. This was the conclusion I was coming too. I'll try to add something in, but my skills are a bit rusty.
One last questions - do you know if there's any way to get the sidebar elements to appear above the blog posts when in mobile view? The filters and buttons would be more useful if seen before the actual blog content.
This is not correct. It says add elements below your post title seperate from your blog side bar. When you try to add elements like photos or code it shows but when you publish it it does not show and aslo it then does not show in the editor after this, So there is a bug
In terms of the blog page itself you can't add elements except to the sidebar or to a header section (if your theme supports it). That is separate from blog posts themselves which you can add elements to.
What you're describing is something else, though, @Snipper. Were you using one of our our mobile apps or the desktop editor?
