Having trouble with inputting custom customer preferences...

Hi there! On many of my previous buyer sites, there tends to be a small box by the "add to cart" or "buy now" button, or at checkout, where the customer is able to send specific preferences to the seller. For example, if they'd want a suit with a specific type of fabric, or color, that would be where they'd put it. One of my buyers have brought to my attention that my store does not have this. I've looked online for how to fix this issue, but to no avail. Is there any way to implement this feature, or if it already exists, to add it to my shop?
