I'm using Square Retail. I purchased the Honeywell 1300 G scanner, the first one on the reccomended list. It does not work my Square stand says 'USB device not detected'.

I'm going to send it back and order another one. Does anyone use the Retail app and have a barcode scanner that works?

We use Socket Mobile scanners. I like how small and portable they are. We've never really had any problems with them. They are more expensive, but I think it's worth it.

Hello @JuliC, sorry to hear that you're having trouble with your USB scanner.

If you haven't already sent it back have you checked all your cable connections including to the base of the stand?

Just to piggy back on @LocavoreStore I have heard great things about the Socket Mobile Scanners. I've never used one personally, but the sellers I've spoken to love them! 😀
