Themes don't change

I have a free account and I'm just experimeting with weebly for the first time though I created my account a few months ago. Anyway, when I choose a theme when I first create my site, it shows no problems. However, when I try and change to a different theme, it doesn't change and stays with my original choice not matter what alternate theme I choose. Does anyone know why I can't change themes? Thanks.

Hello Boatman! Sorry for the stress. It looks like you're using Unite there now, but you should be able to change themes normally. Is there a particular one you're looking to place on the site? We can give it a try here as well.

I contacted Weebly support and Jeremey clarified the matter. Evidently, when changing themes, the new themes pictures that's displayed doesn't show on one's site which I find counter intuitive (and so do many others who reported this "issue" which isn't an issue just how the site works. Anyway, issue is resolved.

Sorry to dig this issue back up, but I'm having the same problem. I can't even preview a theme, it just reloads the first theme I had picked. This is really frustrating since I just paid upfront for 2 years and have spent 45 minutes trying different browers, etc. to resolve this.

Sorry to hear that, @laurenlundy. Can you try doing this:

 

1. Log into your Weebly account, but don't open the site in the editor

2. In another browser tab, visit this page: http://www.weebly.com/themes

3. Click on the theme you want and click the button to use it

4. You should be presented with an option to pick a site to use it with

5. Choose your site

 

This is a different flow for changing themes, so it might work better for you.

Hello, I have tried both methods to change the theme and my background is remaining with the old theme. In the themes page, it does say that the theme I am trying to switch to is active, but when I go back into edit, the old photos in the background from the previous theme remain.  I would like to publish this soon - can you please advise how to fix this?

Hello JB4! The Theme would affect the structure of the site more than the images and other content. For images and similar items, you'll want to click the element or background itself, and use the menus there.

Thanks!  I was using "paper - business" with spa-like pictures in the background (rocks, candles, towels etc.), but when switching to "birdseye 2 - personal" with blue cloud in the background, the spa pictures remain but the blue cloud does not appear anywhere.  I was thinking it would switch over automatically...??  Thanks :-)

How do I get the blue cloud then?  That's why I switched to that theme.... thanks
