How do i get my square calendar app to work faster...

I have an iPad 3 to use with the square register. When I'm in the calendar app it takes several taps and about the longest 5 seconds to open a tab. Especially when clients are waiting for me to reschedule them. How can i make it run faster? Is it because my iPad is outdated? I can only get the up date as high as IOS 9

Could be part age of your iPad and speed of your internet. Upgrading should take care of that. They are on sale at Best Buy for $269 right now
