Register not reading cards

I have the new Square Register and love it.  But, over the last week we've had a few (around 5) customers attempt to pay and the cards are not being read.  When they put the card in, nothing happens at all.  So far, unplugging the unit and restarting seems to be a temporary fix.  Anyone else having this problem?  Is this a known issue?

 

Not thrilled that I'm still having to use my old backup Ipad to swipe cards after getting the register.

Hello @SabrinaM, I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're experiencing. 

 

I'd love to take a closer look into this issue. Could you tell me a little bit about what happened when a customers card wouldn't read? Did the customer insert their card prior to the cashier hitting charge on Square Register?
