Customer Accounts / Cards on File

Is it possible to find the full number of a store card (not credit card) that has been saved (on file) to a customer account? We have a lot of customers who like to "prepay" on a "giftcard" to themselves. We were so excited when Square made the Card on File option available - but we are struggling to have it work effeciently for us. Without being able to call up the card #, if a customer comes in without their card and wants to know their balance, we can't figure out how to call it up since it only shows us the last 4 digits. Additionally, if we want to double check something on a customer card, we have no way of doing so. (**That we can find - hopefully there is a way and we just can't find it!!) Thanks for any and all help!

I have problems with this feature too. people  would love to pay when they book their appointment, and by putting a card on file they feel like they arfe paying. I see the card on file option when i'm checking them out, but it's not available. Its gray instead of black and i can't select it. really frustrating especially when they are so relaxed after a massage, and i have to get them to get their credit card out when it should on 2 accounts already be settled!!

@shapethislife I'm sorry for the frustation this has caused! It sounds like you might have Booking with No Show Protection enabled. While this does prompt a client to enter their card information at time of booking, you can only charge the card if they cancel the appointment. It doesn't save their card on file for future appointments.

There are two ways to use card on file in order to charge a client:

  1. Your client contacts you to make an Appointment and authorizes you to save their card information on file for future bookings. When you've saved their card information the Card on File option will be available at checkout in the app (i.e. not greyed out).
  2. Or, for bookings made by your clients online, if you enable the setting require prepayment your client see the option to save their card on file for future appointments.

If you have any questions about this please let me know by replying to this thread. We also have Appointments Specialists who can help by phone, Monday through Friday.
