Received a square reader we do not want; what to do next

we received a square reader in the mail that we do not want or need as we dont use Square for our account processing. What do you do if you do not want the reader?

Hello @bripol, thanks for getting in touch. It sounds like you received the free magstripe reader that we send out as soon as you activate a Square account. We aren't able to accept magstripe reader returns at this time. Our readers do not have any account-specific or personal information stored on them, so you can hang onto this reader as a backup or give it to a friend who may find it useful.

 

In addition, if you wish to disable your Square account, you can do so from your Square Dashboard. If, in the future, you think Square would work well with your business, please don't hesitate to reach out! We'll be happy to help with any questions.
