iPad connecting with Stand

I just purchased my 3rd stand and I'm trying to connect my iPad 2nd gen to the stand. My account is all logged in and when I put the iPad in it reads the stand as being disconnected. When I unplug the stand it reads it as being connected. I've tried logging out, unplugging everything and backing out of the app completely but nothing works. Everything is up to date, I have never had this issue before and was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem. Just to note I use the older geniration iPads on other stands and have never had this issue.

The newest Square stands don't support iPad 2s. Compatibility is listed here.  https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/5508. You can return the stand within 30 days if it won't work for you. https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/5148

We have the older stand that still connects/supports the iPad 2. We were using the older iPad 2 but the screen was all cracted but that one was connecting fine. we ordered a new one (the one that keeps reading the connections backwards) and that's when we started having the issues
