Loyalty Screens Now Show After Every Transaction

We recently launched a new update for Square Loyalty Program subscribers. In the past, Loyalty screens would only appear after transactions that were eligible for Loyalty stars. We heard from many sellers that this was confusing, and made the Loyalty program feel broken -- plus it didn’t allow customers to sign-up for Loyalty if their purchase didn’t qualify.

 

This new flow, which rolled out with Square Point of Sale version 4.74 (iOS) and 4.75 (Android), will display a Loyalty Rewards screen after every transaction a customer has made. This helps create a more consistent experience for you and your customers, and better communicate why a transaction does (or does not) earn stars. For example: when a transaction does not meet your loyalty requirements, an enrollment screen is presented for the buyer to enroll for future purchases. Don’t worry, no stars are given for this transaction. This change has been made to help you drive more awareness and enrollments for your loyalty program.

 

What changed, exactly?

When a customer makes a transaction that does NOT qualify them for a star, the confirmation screen will indicate why a buyer didn't qualify (dependent on your loyalty program set up).  The confirmation screen will also not display the floating stars if they didn't meet the qualifications.
