Test Partial Payments in the Invoices Request Deposit Beta

Hey everyone!

I’m excited to announce that we’ve rolled out a beta for accepting partial payments with Square Invoices!

This new feature will allow you to create a single invoice and track multiple payments on that invoice. This may also be useful for those of you who want to accept a deposit and collect the rest of the amount due later.

We know this is a feature many of you have been waiting for, so I hope you’ll help us test it out!

By using partial payments and providing us feedback, you will directly influence and improve the Square Invoices product. So please share your reactions and input.

Thanks for the add. I was finally able to use the deposit/partial payment feature.

Here’s what I’ve learned: it doesn’t work on iOS devices unless you access Squareup via a browser. To use it on an existing invoice you must place it in “Edit” mode.

I like the follow up date, but would love it to ask for the date instead of defaulting to 30 days. Most, if not all of my needs is more media, i.e., deposit to begin work then balance upon completion, two weeks or less.

In an existing invoice; It sends an email to the client for every edit, when you add the deposit option, when you add the payment, etc. don’t think this will be a problem with newly created invoices. It confused my customer...

Overall great feature, and am glad it is finally available in beta. Can’t wait to see the final version! Keep up the good work.
