My mobile business is sometimes located in an office building that offers public wifi. Is it safe to process Square transactions (iphone and contactless or chip readers) using that wifi?

@LMT Congratulations on your first post, and welcome to the seller community! 🎉 👍
We take security serious here at Square. Every time you swipe, tap, or dip a credit card the payment information is encrypted. All information remains encrypted throughout transmission from the reader, to the application, to Square’s data centers.
You should have no problem using Square on a public Wi-Fi network. Feel free to read more about our Secure Data Encryption.
If you have any other questions feel free to reply back! 😀

Hi @plumbfarms! The "Web and Client Application Security" section on this thread mentions that card numbers (along with magstripe and chip data) follow secure coding guidelines and adhere to the PCI Data Security Standard. Hope this helps!
