Printer compatibility

Hello, We are wanting to expand our use of Square to our Cafe. We currently own a Star Micronics TSP64411BI printer and an iPad. We need to be able to do two things: ring in orders that we can print and hand off to the kitchen AND, later, print of receipts for customers at the end of their meals. Is it possible to use our printer for both these functions?

That's fantastic! We love to hear that you want to get more out of Square. Our software does allow you to ring in orders that can be printed for the kitchen, as well as print receipts for customers. Unfortunately, we don't support the Star Micronics TSP64411BI printer at this time, so you would need to purchase a supported printer in order to get this all to work.

We use ipad minis at our restaurant and square stand. There are two different printers, one for the kitchen (impact printer) and one for customer receipts (thermal printer.) It is not possible to use either one for both tasks. You might have to use a bluetooth printer with just an ipad. Square Stand supports a USB thermal receipt printer.
