Undo Button

I love that Weebly saves automatically, because it helps if the computer shuts down, we lose power, I'm being blonde and click the wrong thing, etc. However, sometimes you do something and then want to smack yourself because you screwed something up. It'd be so awesome to have "save points" or an "Undo" button, to where you can make or undo changes until you hit that big 'ol publish button, then it flushes the save points. This way, even if something does happen, computer shuts down, whatever, if you haven't clicked "publish", you know the site saved a few save points up till that point, so you wouldn't worry so much if you clicked the wrong thing right before the apocalypse happened and you broke something Smiley Happy

Access to image directory / File Manager

Status: We're Considering It.

In other CMS platforms, the user has the ability to scroll through their image directory, so if you need an image again or on another page in the site, you can just reference it just like we already have the ability to do with files.  Currently, as far as I can tell, the only way to reference a previously used image is to find it on the site and use the URL or to upload it again.  Especially with photos, it would be nice not to have to keep the original files on a hard drive once they've been uploaded to the site.  I've had a few times where i had to search through blog histories to find a file I needed a year later.  If the image directory was easily available, I could have just selected the file from a list.

Enhancing our Service Offerings: The lack of the App center for designer accounts

Status: It's in Our Queue.

We manage client's website via Weebly's designer account platform which has been a really helpful tool. Once the App center was released for use on Weebly's regular websites, I immediately thought... THIS WILL BE GREAT FOR OUR CLIENTS. Unfortunately, I know there is no such app center available for designer accounts.

As a service provider our company is always looking for more effective and efficient ways to help our clients, and I know the app center would give us an enhanced edge and beef up our service palette to existing and future clients.

Please add the app center for designer accounts!

EDITORS on Weebly for Designers

Status: New Idea
by ii_kaybee_ii on ‎03-27-2017 12:07 PM - last edited on ‎03-27-2017 01:27 PM by Community Manager

Just like the standard weebly platform has the EDITORS section in the Settings tab, one is seriously needed in the designers platform as well.

In fact it is more needed in the designers platform than the standard platform as designers have to constantly deal with businesses with hierarchy and this is one of the basic requirements they want.

This would allow a full fledged CLIENT ACCESS and a restricted EDITOR access to edit a select few pages.

The thing is this is already on the standard platform so I see no reason for it not being on the designer platform.

Upload Custom Fonts

Status: New Idea
by jsl on ‎02-25-2016 05:45 PM

I saw a post in another section with a user asking how to add more fonts. Someone replied with an accurate and very helpful answer about adding a font by editing the HTML/CSS code manually. Here's that thread:

I think that we should be able to upload a font file (like a .ttf file), give Weebly a little time to process it, and then be able to use it in our site - or even better, throughout all sites on an account. It would certainly make having a consistient font between print and digital materials much easier. Maybe a Business plan feature...

Multiple languages in Designer Platform

Why not make it so we can choose different interface language for each site created in Designer Platform? At the moment you have to have the same language for all your sites. I am english but live in France so my clients are both french and english. Thanks.

Adding Additional Navigation Menus

Status: New Idea
by AbbyCampbell on ‎03-04-2016 06:29 AM

While we are able to add submenus that show when scrolling over a the main navigation menu, it would be nice to have the ability to add another main navigation menu. Below are two examples.

Example #1 - This isn't the most professional looking example, but it provides the concept.

Example #2 - This second example has one navigation menu above the Ebay logo, and the other is below it.

Even with the extra navigation menu, I would still like to have the submenus attached. So, a second main navigation menu wouldn't replace the submenus.

Weebly Designer Directory

Status: New Idea
by kmdowney on ‎05-06-2016 10:45 AM - last edited on ‎05-06-2016 02:03 PM by Employee Moderator

Weebly has to create (or support someone creating one) a directory of designers. The websites people do on their own generally look pretty bad. Professional designers could help these people, and thereby improve the image of Weebly websites.

It's literally impossible to find designers who do weebly work. A directory would go a LONG WAY towards solving this issue.

Where's the love for the "Web Designers"?

I've been using the Weebly Designer platform for years, and it is astounding to me how slow Weebly is to update it with the new features that "regular" account owners get all the time.

This is even more shocking considering those using the Designer platform are Weebly's best customers.

  1. They host more PAID websites than anyone else.
  2. They regularly bring in more customers at zero cost to Weebly.
  3. They provide technical support to those customers, support that Weebly would normally have to pay for.

As it stands now, the platform is in desperate need of major updates. And I think other designers will agree with me that we've been waiting for this for a long, long time...

Designer Platform needs a Commerce test facility - currently you can't test checkout b4 publishing

by PaulS on ‎06-07-2016 12:36 PM - last edited on ‎06-08-2016 10:32 AM by Employee Moderator

I am working on the Designer Platform and having used ECWID for Commerce in the past, I decided to give the Weebly Store a try. Disappointed to find there is no way to even view the Shopping Cart without publishing the site, let alone perform an end-to-end test. "No problem" I thought  ... "I will publish the site on a free Weebly domain just for testing" .. but no - that's not allowed on the Designer Platform.

So, it seems after chatting to Weebly Support that the only way I can do this properly (i.e. not expect my client to 'go live' with an untested Commerce Store) is to pay for a domain I dont actually want so I can publish there for testing.

This is not good enough, Weebly - please review the Commerce support on the Designer Platform and give us more, not less. Surely that's what we pay for? FYI .. ECWID provides a full end-to-end test facility with even its most basic packages.

Real Time Shipping Calculator for Developer Platform?

Hello - I have your "Developer" Business plan for my client's website.  They really thought we could use the "RTS" or "Real Time Shipping" calculator.  Per my chat with your people, this isn't available currently to the Developer platform.  How soon before it will be available?  Thank you.

Designer platform dashboard should be HTML5 not flash

As title states, this should be HTML5 and not flash so it works on tablets (iPad) etc.

Home page "NEW" feed

Status: New Idea
by VickiW on ‎04-19-2016 06:28 AM

It would be cool to have a scrolling "what's New" element for the front page. It would have configuration options for what's included: blog post (header and small snippet), products (image and mane) and new Pages (For me that might be new tutorials or photos in specific galleries). We coud set expiration dates for the features to that they are automatically removed from the feed.

Social Icons Addition

Status: New Idea
by mandismuses on ‎03-23-2016 04:26 PM

Social networking has become a huge part of building a brand. Along with that, niche social networking has become a huge thing, as people group together due to common interests or causes. Example, I own a roleplaying network that is basically "Facebook for Roleplayers". A friend of mine owns one for authors/writers to network with other people in the publishing field. I know many people that keep niche networks on their list of ways to contact them or see more about them. It'd be so awesome if Weebly's social icons system would let us add our own icon and link to add to the default ones.

Even better, so they'd match with the icons currently available, if we could specific a letter or two or generic icon to represent our custom social icon link. That way they'd all match and look professional.

Like, I'd love a little book to represent, as since it would be for my author page, having my official bio marked there would be amazing. Having one as an A for an Amazon follow, or GR for Goodreads would be great as well. I'm sure there are a lot of people that could think of ways to use a custom icon generator to add to their social icons list.

Weebly, Where Are We Headed ?

Status: New Idea
by WorkingWebsites on ‎02-11-2016 06:38 PM

As I sit in my studio working on yet another website design for one of my clients, a scary thought popped into my head.

What would be the impact to my business if Weebly ceased to exist? Admittedly, this is not the first time that I have contemplated this scenario, and I do have contingency plans should such a regrettable event occur. However, whenever you build a business on a platform that you don't own or control, there are risks and potential consequences to consider.

Until this community forum kicked off I considered myself to be just another Weebly subscriber, happy to complain when things go wrong, and content to continue doing my thing when they don't. Then, I realised, that as my business grows, so does my stake-holding in the continued success of Weebly.

The decisions that Weebly make impact many of us, and I for one would like to see Weebly consulting with its user base on a more strategic level, because my business, like many others, depend on Weebly getting it right now, and into the future.

Designer Account Mobile App (and at least Portal User logins!)

Status: New Idea
by KorbellWeb on ‎08-11-2016 06:49 AM - last edited on ‎08-25-2016 04:32 PM by Employee Moderator

Would like to see the app expanded for designer accounts. At the very least my clients should be able to use the existing Weebly app to login to their portal sites. I have loads of customers on my designer account who are complaining they can't login and edit/post using the Weebly app.

I am putting this forward again

Click the link above.

This is extremely urgent and I assume it should require no time as it is already there on the standard weebly platform.

Mobile Login for Designer Accounts

We would like to see mobile login for designer accounts. We have loads of customers on our platform who are now complaining that they can't login and edit, or post to their blog on mobile.

Upgrade to Weebly Designer

Status: New Idea
by mandismuses on ‎02-25-2016 07:03 PM

I've recently started testing the Weebly Designer platform. It simply doesn't work as well as the normal Weebly one. Items near the top can't be deleted or clicked, you have to move something else up there so that they move down and delete them there.

Things get glitchy, clicking on elements sometimes doesn't work and you have to refresh the entire page. It's definitely a hassle to work with. General updates to make it function a little less glitchy would be awesome Smiley Happy
