I'm currently manually migrating my entire blog from a wordpress based host to Weebly. I want to make the URLs match what they used to be so I don't lose every single Pinterest post and blogger backlink I've ever created. The problem I have is that the new URLs have the word "blog" inserted between my domain and the rest of the slug. For example
http://www.wellroundedmom.com/blog/ninja-one-pot-meatloaf-and-potatoes is how it shows up now.
http://www.wellroundedmom.com/ninja-one-pot-meatloaf-and-potatoes is how it was (and how all my backlinks direct).
Is there a way to remove the word blog from the middle of the URL? Should I set up the website differently? Adjust something in the blog settings?

Hi @ WellRoundedMomThere isn't a way to remove the blog part because your are using a "blog" page type. although...it should still allow you to setup the redirect since the domain itself has not changed. Does it error when you try to add the redirect?

Apologies, I'm just now realizing you never mentioned anything about setting up a redirect! Let me back up. If you follow this guide: https://www.weebly.com/app/help/topics/how-to-301-redirect-an-old-page-to-a-new-weebly-page you should be able to setup your old url to forward to your new urls. I'm just not 100% sure if you will be able to choose the blog post itself.
My colleague migrated his blog over to Weebly and I'll check to see if he was able to put anything into place.

Will I need to create a separate redirect for every blog entry I used to have? That would be around a hundred redirects.

Hi @WellRoundedMom I checked with support and there isn't a way to setup a redirect for individual blog posts. You can only redirect the main blog page. I'm very sorry that it won't work for you.

So I have lost all of the back links, pinterest pins, search ranking... everything I spent years building?
I'll make sure to let other bloggers that I know NOT to switch to Weebly if they want to maintain ANYTHING.
