Customizable Cart Page - Continue Shopping Option

I would like to be able to have the option to 'Continue Shopping' when an item is selected. When an item is selected, the 'Checkout' option pops up. The 'Conitnue Shopping' option is at the Checkout page and it would be more convenient for customers to have the option to 'Continue Shopping' versus checking out and then having to select continue shopping.
