Weight minimums at check out?

I run a frozen dog food business, we cannot send out less than 7kg due to defrost risks. It would be really useful if I could stop customers purchasing under 7kg. Despite ample text everywhere may still do. It causes upset when orders are refunded and it takes a lot of admin time.

Is there a way to set a min order amount by weight? please dont suggest different shipping rules as they just do not work.

Unfortunately, I don't think there's an easy way to do that right now, and you're right - shipping rates would not be a very elegant solution since it could only be used to discourage orders and couldn't actually stop someone from ordering.

I don't think this has been posted to our Vote on Features board before. If you have a moment I'd recommend posting it there, since that's the best way to let our product team know you'd like to have a feature added.
