An absurd amount, eh? Stripe, an alternative payment system also used by a wide variety of small businesses, charges 1.5% So Square's fee is quite a significant improvement. And most other payment systems don't provide the option at all.
I wasn't aware of this 25-cent PayPal option. There was an announcement over a year ago that it would be "coming", but I can't find anything about it currently in my PayPal account or in their FAQs. If you could provide a link to the info, that'd be appreciated.
Even if it's true though, that wouldn't make me suddenly switch to using PayPal for my card processing. Their customer service and merchant protections are non-existant. I'd lose too much to fraudulent transactions to make it worth it.
