Hi-

Hoping someone can help me with a quick answer:

I'm very interested in Square Payroll for my company, and especially excited by the automatic tax filing and document generation features.

Thing is, we have some 1099 contractors that we will need to pay partially through Square Payroll and partial through other means (long story). Can anyone tell me if Square Payroll has the capability of accepting records of external payments, so we can assure we send our contractors (and the govt) accurate tax info?

Hi there, @SeanDImprov 👋 You should be able to do this with Square Payroll!

You'll want to enter the external contractor payments into our system yourself, and make sure to select the payment method Pay All Contractors by Check when doing so. This way, our system will have the correct year-to-date amounts paid to the contractors for tax filings, but Square won't actually be moving any money.
