I have the square register that is the all in one. Its the one that doesnt need a tablet. Its the brand new one that just came out.

I have read that barcode scanners are compatible with Square for Restaurant, However are they compatable with Square for restaurant on the new Register??

The Square Register does NOT support BLUETOOTH barcode scanners....isn't that crazy?? It ONLY supports USB scanners. So unfortunately, if you have a Bluetooth barcode scanner from your previous POS hardware set up, its no longer a viable option. You have to purchase the one and only USB scanner that is compatible with the register. Does Square explain this in the Square Register description?? Of course not! It doesn't at any point mention that there is only one compatible scanner and it never explicitly says its not bluetooth compatible. So so so disappointed with the new hardware rollout and the complete disregard to communicating to previous customers on the **actual requirements to update our equipment.
