How do you apply rewards during checkout in Appointment app?

When checking out in the Appointment App I start with the calendar. Click on the appointment I'm checking out. Then I go to apply rewards, select the loyalty reward and it takes me back to the check out screen. Then its a red! saying to add a service to the transaction to get the reward to apply. I've already got a service on the screen, it came from their appointment. So, during troubleshooting I've also applied the service like it asks, then I end up with two on the appt, and it still doesn't fill in anything other than $0.00 for the reward dollar amount. I've tried this several different ways and in different orders and nothing is working. Help! I've had to go in and apply a discount then go into the square website and void their reward just to get it done.

@privateeyes I'm sorry for the frustration! First of all I recommend making sure you have the latest version of the Appointments app on your device for iOS. Having the latest version will ensure you have new features and any fixes recently released.

 

Then, can you try this flow to add a reward during check out in the Appointments app?

  1. Select the appointment from your Calendar > tap Review and Check Out.
  2. From the next screen tap Add Item or Discount > then tap Redeem Rewards.
  3. Select your client and if they have a reward tap Apply to Sale. OR tap Use Code in the upper left to manually enter their reward code.
  4. After you've applied a reward you'll automatically be taken back to the Check Out screen and you'll see the service name and the discount.
  5. Tap Charge to proceed and charge your client's card with the reader.

You can also apply a reward when creating an appointment: Tap Create Appointment and then tap Add Item or Discount and follow steps 2 and 3 above.

 

If you're still not able to apply a reward reply here to let me know and I'll investigate further!

Thank you for this reply. I am doing those steps and that is where the problem is. It does not apply a discount amount, it says a service needs to be added to the appointment, even though the appointment already has a service in it. It does not work for me to create the appointment and add the discount at that time as many of my appointments are booked several at a time and far in advance. They earn the rewards as they go.

Hmm can you try these Appointments app troubleshooting steps? If you're still seeing this error please call our CS team so that an Appointments specialist can investigate this further.

Thanks. These steps don't fix anything. I'll give them a call when I have a client that will be patient enough to let me troubleshoot it with their appt.
