Live feed of sales

: I would like to know if there is a feature through Square that would allow me to show a running total of donations given at an event. A real time accumulation...

There isn't a way to have a toatboard, but you could use the Dashboard to display today's total which I would assume is your day's sales.  you just have to shut off the other widgets like I did in the pic attached.
