Ringing up multiple differently priced items to the same category

Is there a quicker way to ring up items going to the same category?  For example, I'm ringing up 5 greeting cards, all priced differently, do you have to keep hitting the card category then price, then back to card category then price, very time consuming when busy and trying to ring up items with people standing in line.

set up an item,  the item is in the category that you assign it to automatically

I get that, currently we select an item, then enter the price, hit add the go back to the item, enter the price and hit add and so it goes.  When entering a lot of items it is very time consuming.  Is there some way to use the keypad function yet have transactions entered to individual item categories?  When you use the keypad function you can just keep adding without going back and forth between screens for each entry.  Very smooth but doesn't let us catorigize each item.  Thanks

the keypad is uncategorized, if it was categorized then you would have to choose the category first anyway.

are you searching thru the item list or using the item grid?  with the item grid, you can enter items super fast especially if you enter the items beforehand so you don't have to type the price in during the checkout transaction time.

We only have 4 different items so that's not the problem.  We have hundreds of items in our store so do not have anything pre-priced in our system, have to manually enter prices. It just seems like you should be able to stay in one item category and ring up a bunch of stuff then move on to the next item category instead of constantly going to "clothing", enter price, go back to "clothing", enter next item price etc. Its the going back and forth that does not seem efficient.
