Old-ish cash drawer using phone line vs usb?

I have a yjm-303 cash drawer that only has a standard phone line jack which I plugged into my thermal receipt printer which in turn plugs into my square stand system via usb. It doesnt seem to be linking up right though...is this doable or am I out of luck using this particular register? Thanks

At this time, we're only able to support a limited number of cash drawers with Square Stand — your yjm-303 cash drawer will not work, unfortunately. For complete details on what's compatible, have a look at this section of our Support Center: Recommended Hardware for Square Stand.
