Why does square double charge my clients card when online booking for services?

I have a booking site that collaborates with square to receive payments from clients however, every time a client attempts to pay a 50% deposit (which I require for services) it double charges them the remaining 50% fee. For example, if my service fee is $60 I require a 50% payment to secure the appointment of $30. The other remaining $30 would be charged later but square automatically double charges their bank. Can anyone help with this?
