False error message Reader unavailable: secure session denial

On Android in Hardware have Square Reader for contactless and chip

Under Connect and manage it says 
Square readers - 1 Connected.

I tested it and it works but has a big yellow secure session denial message at top
The top solution for secure session denial in this forum is from years ago and does not seem to be about the contactless chip reader. Blue tooth is connected.
Not sure if or how I should try to fix something that is working?
Recommendations?
