Sales Tax and Your Weebly Site

Nothing can quickly frustrate or confuse quite like taxes, no matter the kind of taxes. When it comes to selling online it can be no less confusing - but it doesn’t need to be!

Ryan O’Donnell wrote an article for our Inspiration Center on this very topic called Sales Tax 101 for Weebly Sellers.  He covers many of the terms and ideas that you might encounter, yet be unsure of what they mean or if they would affect you.

I’ve seen a fair number of posts here in Community about taxes, and while we can’t provide tax advice ourselves Ryan’s article does an amazing job demystifying many of the rules and concepts behind sales tax and online stores.  With that information, you’ll have the knowledge to know what applies to you, and what to ask if you need to contact your local government for more information.

Once you know what you need to set up, just go to Store > Settings > Taxes and start setting up your taxes (don’t forget to check the option on any product you want sales tax charged on).

Don’t see what you need to set up your taxes? Feel free to suggest it on our Vote on Features board! There’s already a few suggestions there now.
